About a week or so ago, I changed out my A/V receiver and did a bit of any overhaul on my component cabling. The only change to my MX-350 was changing the AUDIO programming, which couldn't be pre-programmed, but everything worked fine in learning mode.
Since then, I've had really odd behavior with the remote on my satellite receiver (DirecTV), and I didn't change a THING on the remote except for the new receiver. Basically, everything works just fine except for certain functions/buttons. Several of the number buttons either no longer work, or send the wrong command.
I'm using an MRF-250 base station, and all of the components are inside an oak cabinet. I don't think that there's anything going on at the base station or with the flashers, otherwise it probably wouldn't be working at all. Any chance that the buttons have started to wear out after 4-5 years? In my mind, it's too much of a coincidence that it works fine up until the point when I made a change to it.
Can/Should I wipe out the flash memory and reprogram the thing?

I would try reprogramming the sat receiver. I've found that even with the PC-programmable remotes, buttons sometimes start working intermittently, but the problem clears up after I re-download the programming to the remote.

I should have noted that I've tried that already, even in learn mode. No dice.

newer directv receivers are notorious for IR issues. usually moving the ir emitter away from the eye on the directv box helps things.
did you learn the codes from the directv remote? or are you using database codes? the database codes will be much more reliable.
