Hello All, Great forum for people trying this VERY poweful remote. Currently have an MX-950,long discontinued, getting MX-980 to integrate with WIN7 64 bit Home Premium. MX-950 Editor not compatable. A couple of questions regarding MX-980; 1) Can CCP run and control remote on a Dell Inspiron Mini with Atom processor netbook computer running WIN7 StarterEdition. 2) I have 3 MRF-300 RF Base Stations from 950 and would like to know if these are compatible with MX-980 along with MRF-350. Hope I am posting in the correct forum. Thank you for your time and expertise, John.

John, the MX-950 is not compatible with Vista (any version) or Windows 7 (any version). It works best with XP because activesync was still around instead of Mobile Media Center, which Microsoft uses instead. CCP works on all Windows Platforms. Most of my clients have Windows 7 64-bit, and it works fine. Your MRF-300 base stations are compatible with the 980, but do not utilize the narrow band the MRF-350 offers. That basically means that the 350 willl do a better job of communicating with your 980 in the event there is some interference present. That being said, the 300 will work fine as long as it's placed properly and no interference exisits. The 980 is also compatible with the MRF-250 and MRF-260 base units as well.

Regards,
Vincent

You can replace the MRF300 antenna (RFX150) with RFX250's and you'll be golden with your MX980.

FWIW the 950 software runs fine in VMWare or any VM solution that supports USB. I did this for a long time in Vista and onto Win7.

My 980 will be here next week. The 950 finally gave up the ghost. I'm playing with the editor now and like what I see.
