Hi
I have a new 980 with two base stations - 260 and 350. I'm at the point where I want to testing out RF.
In Step 5 (RF), why does CCP have each of my activity pages (including "Please Wait Macro") listed along with my actual devices ? Must I set 'Signal', 'Receiver', and 'IR Output' even for each Activity item in the list ? If so, won't that get a bit complicated because an activity will be sending signals to devices, some of which will be controlled by the 260 and others by the 350. It doesn't appear that both base stations can be listed simultaneously in 'Receiver' for a device item.

Thanks. This part is a bit more confusing than I thought it would be. If it just had only the configured devices, this would be no trouble. Having the activity pages show up too has thrown me a big curve ball.

If you have no actual commands in your activity pages then it won't matter what you set it to. If you have a non-aliased command in an activity then it will use the RF/IR mode that you select for the activity.

Typically all your activity commands should be aliased from your devices. Also, remember that the program is set up for Watch and Listen and not Activities and Devices. In that case both areas would use RF assignments. You've basically renamed Watch to Activities and Listen to Devices. Coming from Harmony remotes this is probably the best way to keep the WAF high.

Thanks Brian. Yes, I put a lot of non-aliased commands in my Activity Pages. I'll go change that and see how it goes from here. The more I play with this thing the more I learn and the quicker I'm getting at making changes. Following that line of thought, I'm going to wait on on using variables in my power on macros. Give me something to work on later on this winter.

This is not a good approach. When programming you should have all your devices contain the IR codes and aliased everywhere else. This saves space and is way more efficent that putting IR codes everywhere.
