Hi team.
Sorry if this is in the wrong section.
I have got me head in a spin over remotes. I currently own a harmony 1000 And for the most part its been just what I need. Its primarily used in the context of a home media system, so I have enjoyed access to XBMC/tv/hifi all on one 'activity'
Reading the reviews of the latest URC remote it does not seem to offer this? In my mind its essential I have all commands available without having to swap between devcies constantly. That would be a nightmare, especially for my young son who basically has the 1000 sewn up.
The 1000 has developed the dreaded volume to max fault.
Before researching that I was not the only one with this issue I hit the button for a new harmony 1100 which for the past week I have had nothing but troubles with. It will not send activity commands, just seems to crash and the PLEX commands have been borked in their database anyway so home media is out the question.
Well anyway, what I am asking is what my options are for around £250, baring in mind I reall ywant to control my devices at the same time without have to swap between. I don't see how macros help in this instance. Its simple tasks like turning the volume up on my hifi when I want, but also scroll around XBMC with the navi pad at the same time.
Cheers guys

Volume commands can be what URC terms as Punch-though" meaning no matter the activity, the volume commands will control the hifi.
With URC, you can have any command on any page at any time. For example, when I am watching DirecTV via that activity, I can also control my lights or AVR mode.
With URC, if you want a button to do something, it can do no matter the mode.
So yes, you can do what you are asking.

Thanks guys.
Honestly I am just utterly gutted with the quality of this logitech 1100.
The final straw tonight is I find that the 'customizable' sidebar buttons can only be images not text, furthermore you are only given a few icons to use which are totally generic. Nothing that would indicate menu, or aspect ratio, info, quid etc, just random images taken from xbox remotes.
A nasty device. Its going back to amazon.

URC remotes allow you to place any function or macro on any button. They are truly 100% customizable. It simply comes down to it being programmed the way you want it.
