I have a customer with an existing MX-850. I'm doing some additions to his systems and some programing. The way the system it is right now is plain IR from the MX-850 to the equipment (no base station). Since this remote is a couple of years old and I didn't provided either; how can I tell that it is a narrow band remote and can be used with a narrow band base station? Second, can I use an MSC400 with this remote and program an MX-850 on CCP to be able to use serial control. I don't think that this is possible, since I haven't found the way to have an MX850 on CCP, neither there is a way to do RS-232 on the MX-850 editor but I might be wrong.
I'm always right. The only time I was wrong was the time that I thought, that I was wrong.

No, you cannot trigger anything on the MSC-400 (232 commands, smart macros or otherwise) w/ a MX-850

The good news is you can pass the MX-850 through the MSC-400 via wide or narrow band just fine. Macros can still live on the 850s for you if need be.

Sorry, I was editing/adding that.

Well, I downloaded a file that I created previously for the Master Bedroom where we added an MX-850 with an MRF-260 and worked with the old remote even when the manufacturing date was 053105, go figure

What's with all the 'double-posting'??
it's annoying!
