You need the CCP software since the MX880 standalone is no longer available. Find out from the giver where the remote came from, and go ask for the software. Otherwise, call a pro.

Guys,

You'll find all kinds of help on this forum if you have the software.
Unfortunately.......What you have right now is a brick!
Dealers can give you the software if they wish; but they are not obligated to do so.
It's URC's policy and you'll find many threads on this site about this subject.
I am an end user and I received a copy of CCP with the products I purchased.
MY dealer told me he would never give a copy of CCP to most of his clients.
It's just to complicated for the average end user. My dealer knows me personally and he understands that I'll figure it out. I've never ever bothered him for support. I know what his time is worth and what mine is worth. CCP isn't logitech!
Although it can be figured out; I personally can see why most dealers avoid giving it away. It would turn into a service and consultation nightmare!

If you can't find someone to give you the software; you'll be out of luck!
I don't think you'll find anyone here that will give CCP away.
I may be wrong?

I wish you luck!
Go back to the dealer where it was purchased....

To prjfm501, if you're not a whiny jerk that can actually speak UNDERSTANDABLE english we're happy to help. The problem is we're not supposed to give out software to anybody other than OUR clients. Too many people buy on EBAY and then say whatever they can to get the software. The company that sold the person that got you the remote SHOULD have been up front saying it doesn't come with software. Find out who they are and see what they'll do. If they won't give you the software I'd return the remote to them because they shouldn't have sold it in the first place if they weren't willing to give a copy of the software with it.

rweeded, if you've really been in the business 10+ years you should have known the situation with your remote. Just because you were an idiot and loaned out the disc is nobody's fault except your own. I know quite a few customers that bought the remote through the proper channels and got the software from URC. Where did you get yours? Secondly, if you worked for me but were pointing customers to products that we didn't sell you would have been fired a long time ago.

Asking a customer if they'd like "fries" with their order really isn't our industry.

remember to clean your disc with sandpaper after lending it out, you don't want to damage your disc drive by putting a dirty disc in it.

Is the CCP software a licensed product that is NOT allowed to be distributed for free?
