Let me start by saying I'm new the forum here, and excited about getting some help with the macros function on my new MX-450 from URC. I've been a Harmony 880 and 890 user for years, and am finally upgrading my remote after seeing a MX-450 for the first time at a friends house.

I'm pretty tech savvy, have hooked up OOMA telelphone, have 2 wireless networks within my home, I've setup wireless bridges, print servers, etc....
The one thing I have problems with is macros...i've never grasped the concept.

Here's the equipment I have..
Samsung LCD TV
Directv HD DVR
Yamaha Soundbar
Oppo DVD

I've snooped around the remote in regards to the macros, but really don't know where to start??..where do I set the TV input to HDMI2? Where do I setup the soundbar to TV input? I've entered all my equipment on the remote, and it works...volume, power, etc...the commands all work with the equipment I have. How to I setup a macro where I push the TV button, and the TV knows to go to HMDI2, and the Yamaha soundbar turns on and goes to the TV input?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Go to advanced setup - macros and then setup your new macros from there. You can also edit them as well once they are setup.

Of course you've read through the instructions which pretty much explain how to do things right?

You mean the instructions that speak in generalities... yes.

I can't believe you're so intuitive?? Thanks.

Sorry, given the remote to many customers to be programmed by themselves and all they did was read the manual.

I'm pretty tech savvy, have hooked up OOMA telelphone, have 2 | wirelessnetworks within my home, I've setup wireless bridges, print servers, | etc....

And when I read that I just wondered if you looked at the manual or threw it away.
