i cant find the mac address of the MX-5000, not there in the battery compartment either. any idea how to find it?

I have 2 MX-5000 units. One of them (lets call it Remote 1) successfully on the network. I have set DHCP in the CCP and given it a static address on the router (I am not sure how I got the mac address on this one but it is there, visible in my router admin screen under LAN status)

I got another MX-5000 (lets call this remote 2) recently. First, I synched it to the CCP using the existing MX-5000 device.. Remote 2 wont get onto my wifi network

Then, I created a separate device in CCP and have been using that to synch with Remote 2. Remote 2 stubbornly refuses to get onto my network and I cant find its mac address anywhere either

any idea what the resolution could be? I want remote 2 to get onto my wifi network thats all.

Press and hold main and menu at the same time for about 3 seconds.
This will get you into the MX-5000 system set-up.
The Wifi mac address is under system at the bottom of the page.

Sorry,

My mistake!

Main and select button.
Large center button on remote.

I've had issues with Microsoft active sync in the past.
Try deleting your active sync devices and reinstalling them.
I've had issues in the past when I renamed my MX5000 in active sync.
I'm not sure why?
Stick with the default name MX5000 on your second remote in active sync and reinstall your file?????

Worth a try?

Just finished a job with 4 MX5000, one was bad, just wouldn't see the network, I called URC tech support, their answer was "I've never heard of this problem". Mine was "I have four remotes, three of which see the network and one just doesn't". They sent me a new remote.

I just went through a similar situation. Looking at the WiFi box (Menu + Select then select WiFi), I noticed the DNS was not an address I recognized. So even though I thought I had set this in CCP, I went into the "Configure" button on the MX-5000 and set this manually. I also set the other addresses to their appropriate values and set a static IP address.

Upon also making the CCP IP address static and the same I had typed in the MX-5000, my WiFi connection worked. Prior to this the connection had never truly connected according to the router.

I don't know why CCP didn't update these addresses but it works now. I also got to use the world's smallest keyboard to type those addresses in the MX-5000. I just kept reminding myself that I only needed to do this once...
