Attempting to upload remote settings for the first time from MX900 to MX900 Editor software via usb cable. I'm getting the following error message "File error 1". Is anyone familiar with this error message and possible solutions? Thanks, James.

I'm getting the same error today, but I haven't in the past. I'm trying to update some issues on my MX-3000, and no-go... I'm looking for another IR database library to at least grab recent IR codes. I'll let you know if I hit the jackpot.

... but I'm changing my system and can't get everything the way I want it. YET!

Are you talking about uploading the default factory settings from the remote to your computer? I don't know if its possible. Well, anything is possible...

I had the same problem when I first got my remote (mx6000) I had to download my program to the remote first then I could upload to my computer from then on.

thanks for the reply. The MX900 was intially programmed by the retailer and now I just want to switch the comcast functions to ATT U-verse, and don't want to lose any of the other programming that was initally done. So, I thought my first step needed to be "uploading" the remote to my PC. I welcome any thoughts on how else I could do this. Thanks.

Which Editor are you using, the stand alone or CCP?

I'm using the stand-alone MX900 software. Thanks.

Any idea which editor your programmer initially used? You can open the stand alone in CCP, but not CCP in the stand alone.

Did you ever get this resolved? I have the same issue, but don't know what was used to program it initially. I have the MX-900 Editor loaded, but can't upload the current program from my remote. Thanks for any help. Larry
