I have a customer that i installed 2 mx 880s along with 2 mrf 260s. the one in the family room upstairs is on ID 6 and the one in the basement is on ID 0. I got a call from him today saying he has noticed that when both are on sometimes the remote downstairs changes the directv upstairs and vice versa...any suggestions on how to change this. isnt the reason for having the IDs different is so this doesnt happen...thanks

You should never use ID0 for anything but testing for noise. I can see the upstairs remote controlling the downstairs directv but I don't think the downstairs should control the upstairs. I have always routed the ir to each component and put the same sources on different ir outputs so there is almost never a problem with crosstalk.

ID 0 is an open address to test for RF interference. It will accept any incoming RF signals. Also, be sure to address the IR emitter ports. You will want similar components on separate ports, in order to eliminate additional crosstalk.

If I were you I would change one of the DTV boxes to ID2. There can be times where you have 2 different basestations on 2 different ID's that will have cross talk. I have run into this issue.
Or swap out one set for the "i" series. Or use the Zigbee versions when using this combo in the future.
