It was pretty easy to do in the older software, just right click and celect import or export. Somebody said it with the transporter button but so far I can not get it to work.

Thanks in advance

To import, right click on Watch or Listen in the tree view. Not sure about export.

I've used CCP since release and have been to two trainings - without learning how to import devices. Thanks for the intel, Freddy. It's kind of crazy that the import command cant be found on the file or edit menus - there's plenty of room!

If there is no export, I guess you can just make a new remote and import the one device you want then save it.

CCP lets you import from whole configuration files without doing any special export functions. The idea is to make it easier to use - the stand-alone editors required you to export parts of a file, save them and then import into new files. Seems like a huge improvement to me.

I too have been trying to import devices and with everyone' posts I now can import to the tree view in model design.

How do I now link this imported device to one of the 8 hard buttond on the remote?

Lets say you want to import dvd device from file 2 to file 1
You can make a copy of file2, open file2, delete all devices from main1/main2, except for DVD device. save this as a junk file 2

Importing into CCP is fairly simple. Just right click on Main. Import the junk file2 (you will see only the DVD device in the list. You can click on the left to select it). This way, there is less confusion about punch through or external device etc. (hopefully!).

You don't even need to make a copy. You can just import from file 2 and select the DVD device.

DeLorean? Good one.. :-))
Funny!

Frankly, I forgot how to export.. I knew I had done it in the past.. I was seeking answers and I found this thread.. There was no final answer and I thought I would post it, so that others like me, driving DeLoreans, have help. :-))
