I just purchase a MX 880 and while setting it up I notice a problem with the page up button working intermittently. I just sent it back to have it check. While I was playing with the MX editor I’m having a problem with how the favorites button work. I want to be able to configure multi favorite buttons but the software won’t let me do this. If I create a favorite button in the watch or listen group, the favorite icons do not show up in the edit menu. I’m wondering if I should switch to MX 900 since there is no FAV button to configure. Any thoughts?

The favorite channel icons are only available in the "Favorites" section of the remote. You can set up favorites on the individual device pages, but just like the MX-900, they will only be text-based. You don't have to use the Favorites section of the MX-880. Actually, not having a separate Favorites section is something that many owners of the MX-900 bemoaned because they had to use up space on the device pages for either multiple favorites or a single button to take them to a "Favorites" device.

I use the favorites pages to do what should have been built into the remote in the first place. My DirecTV macro jumps to FAVS page one where I have used the colored buttons to replicate the color buttons on the DirecTV remote. Then paging up gets me some of my channel icons.

Thanks for getting back. I decided to upgrade to the MX-980.
