I use the MX-850 editor for my Testing MX700 with no issues
So I would agree with tweeterguy and say yes

I upgraded a mx-700 to an 850 a couple of months ago. Worked perfectly.
Adding.... I didn't have to "capture" anything. As tweeter said... Same editor same file .
