Hi Everyone,
Thanks for reading my thread
Due to a recent turn of events, I am now running a Vista operating system.
After several attempts and calls to tech, I was able to communicate to the existing
Mx 980 I have for one of my manhatten customers.
I live about a hundred miles north.
I have my devices existing in watch and listen, When programming
on step 2 ,create button layout, I can not get the default templates to come up in the box the have supplied in editor . The existing devices I have show there pages over on the left in the box, the new device shows no butons at all, or any choices to pick a panel under "select template or button layout".
As a result, I can not program at this time.
Tech has not been able to help as of this evening. Losing $$ , Time, Hair ....
Too old for this grief!
I have uninstalled, reinstalled, all security and firewall off. many times.
Any ideas????
MX 3000 editor works so far
Don't hold me to it though.
Thanks
Darryl

I just checked. I am running Vista and can access the template in the manner you are stating in the MX-980 software.

Yes there are several flavors of Vista. Try uninstalling and reinstalling the MX editor in admin mode. That seems to be one of the first things to try. I'm not a Vista user....MAC with XP via Fusion, but the logic remains the same for starters.

For those who read his and care!
Had not heard back from URC tech!
Good thing I'm not sitting on a job site waiting.

When opening up mx980 editor, the message "
can not find file path" appears.
Under File,User Preference, the software was looking for the image gallery in the wrong location.
Kudos to 'Bruce' from Best Buy in Kingston NY for taking the time to help locate and fix the problem.
No one else was able to help.
Software loaded fine, not sure if URC had seen this yet with Vista
