I finally get a chance to install one these Lutron dimmers, but it's in a MX-950. So I downloaded the codes for older remotes and know how to get them into the MX-950 but I'm concerned as to which ID to use? Also it says to put the MRF base station on zero ID, but we were trained otherwise, do we have to leave it on zero ID once the Lutron dimmer is working? The zero ID causes intermittent RF issues? Thanks for any advice or tips!

Also, do we have to leave the front IR blaster on the base station off?

Have you read the setup document from training or that is available in the Control Room? There is a PDF file titled URC Lighting Control Setup Programming that outlines exactly what needs to be done in order to set the RF ID for the switch and remote.

Blaster on? No, it has nothing to do with this. You are transmitting RF directly from the handheld to the dimmer.

The MX-950 Editor should have the dimmer codes in the database. You set up a NEW (ie second) base station with ID #0 and route the dimmer commands to that base station. Basically you're creating a non-routing phantom base station. All other components can stay assigned to whatever ID you choose.

When installing 2 RF Wall Dimmers in the same room, you will need to use 2 different codes in the remote. I've also experienced that the dimmers already were full of codes and I had to wipe them and then hold the tap button down to program the code installed in the remote.

The instructions are a little vague, but follow the instructions for the Lutron Maestro dimmers to reprogram them.

Thanks all for responding. Peter that was the concept I needed to hear or see. It's phantom base station setup, now it all makes sense. I have read the PDF Tweeter, it's vague to an extent of applicational usage, you just have to figure it out a bit. Robert Durbin's online training is great and funny, if you've been to one of his training session you'll know what I'm talking about, but when he mentions to change the ID to 0, I though it was the actual physical MRF base station that had to be set to zero, now I realize it's just the software setting for the ghost base station.

Oh, the codes were not in the MX-950 database, I had to download the code sets from URC website, and import them via the Universal browser.

Thanks guys.
