Opinions and suggestions would be appreciated here. My daughter 'cleaned' the MX-3000 today and killed it. I have spent a fair amount of time getting the programming just right and will miss it after the past 3 years of use. So, I thought I'd just go out and buy a new one, upload the programming and get back to where I was. But, I now see that URS has gotten tighter on the live update (my version that updated fine would not today), I don't know where to get one here in the jungle in SE Asia. There certainly isn't an authorized dealer around. My best option is to buy one from the US. I don't need the services of a CI, but I'd like to keep it current as I replace kit. Do I stick with the MX-3000, or should I just say to heck with it and get something else?

Stick with what your happy with. Remotes in this class are too expensive to "taste test". You can read all the reviews you want, nothng is going to compare to your own review when the remote is in your hand. I am not an advocate of Harmony and the remotes they sell are not to my liking, but if your a DIYer and want a two hand coffee table remote with graphical touch screen try the new Harmony 1100 due out in Feb 2009. At least you can go touch it at a retail outlet - and you can program it easily yourself.
If you want to upgrade, MX-3000 just evolved into the MX-6000 which is a bigger sized version with more hard buttons and 2-way capability in some respects.

Well, I decided to bite the bullet, throw caution to the wind and see what URC has done with the MX-6000. Ordered and on its way to me shortly (I hope). My feedback to follow
