Hey guys, new to the forum but long-time lurker. Quick question regarding the MX-850 -- can it learn radio commands?

The reason I'm asking is I want to integrate this product into a home theater system:

[Link: home-improvement-superstore.com]

The product's not described well, but it's most likely controlled via radio signals rather than IR by the pictured key fob. It would be used to control a powered subwoofer that's set up in the theater, with the rest of the electronics stack set up in another room. The subwoofer sorta sits by itself in the theater, with the power cable plugged into the wall. It would be great from a power savings point of view to be able to integrate this product (or similar) into the existing MX-850 setup. I would need the MX-850 remote to learn this product's radio signals.

Could I program the MX-850 to use this product? Alternatively, are there similar products that you could recommend that would work instead? (FYI, there's probably no chance of laying down more IR wire to the subwoofer; line of sight *might* work for IR control from the actual MX-850 remote.

no
There is no truth anymore. Only assertions. The internet world has no interest in truth, only vindication for preconceived assumptions.

Winner of the concise post award... now does anyone have any suggestions on an application/device that would work?

You could use a switched outlet with a URC MRFA-S6AM-URC. How much current does the sub draw?

If the sub is "IR" add a mrf 250 at the sub (emitter from 350 to sub) adrress it the same as your main base station. I may be wrong on th emodel number, it has 4 ir outputs
why have a nice system if you cant operate it, program the remote the right way the FIRST time!
