I just started using the MX-900 and have a problem with getting Microsoft Activesync to connect. I assume you use this program to download new devices from the net. Does this communicate from the COM port. Activesync says it can not detect this device (the MX-900 remote). To complicate matters I running Windows XP on a iMac through Virtual Machine (Parallels) which does not have com ports. Is there another program that can sync with this remote or change the USB port, which does work, to a Windows com port.

Thank You
John

The MX-900 does not use Activesync. And Com ports are only for use with serial devices (ie. MX-850, MX-800, MX-700).

As new devices are added to the database, how do I update the IF and RF database aside from direct from the device remote. Is there an internet site where this is done?

Thank you
John

If you bought the MX-900 from an authorized dealer, ask him for the updateable software, which only requires an internet connection to work. Otherwise, you must use the non-updateable version, available from the link in the post above.
