So, what happens in that scenario when you have setup a DVR recording on the second tuner and you happen to want to turn the system off when its recording?
There's just too many variables to create a bullet-proof macro for these boxes, but your's sure sounds close. Thanks for that summary!

or you can simply use a "0" and you don't have to worry about it changing channels when you don't want it to. the info bar will simply appear and then time out with no channel change.

Yeah..... you're thinking too hard....
"Discrete" power on: 0
"Discrete" power off: 0, delay, power
This is as bulletproof as you can get, and the 0 doesn't change the channel at all

Use the "Exit" button, then it definitely won't change the channel.
In my area Time Warner has it where if you misenter a channel, it will take you to the closest channel. So 0 as power on would make it always start on channel 1 (the TW billboard).
Using 0-Exit for Power On, however, will power it on and then exit the channel banner before the channel can change. Then Power Off is just 0-Exit-Power.
I've been using it for a few years and it works great.

Thanks for jumping in this thread with proper info.

Is this some kind of joke?
If so I don't appreciate giving out information that is not correct.
