I purchased the MX-980 in March 2008 from a licensed dealer, so I have the software as well as the Expansion Pack and the Favorite Channel Pack. Has URC updated these expansion packs since then? Do they on a regular basis?

New channels pop up all the time or they change logos, etc, etc. I'd like to get new channel buttons if possible from URC. If not, has anyone else made and posted new buttons somewhere? If not, I guess I'll try my hand again at making some new buttons.

I've made some new buttons for cable channels. I'm not a artist but have done one for:
WDCA TV
crime 7 investigative TV
Fox Business channel
Smithsonian
Millitary History
History International
greep planet TV
Wealth TV
Speed TV
MAV TV
Outdoor TV

If you want any one these let me know. The only condition is that you not cooment on them publically

There's nothing new on either. The dates on the packs is 1-10-08 for the favorite channels and 2-1-08 for the expansion pack.

lol, I'm graphically challenged as well, although I do a decent job if given good graphics to start with. I'm the one who made the Music Choice Pack in the files section, so I imagine I can make a few of the ones I'm missing.

Off the top of my head, the ones I am looking for are...

Palladia or even the old MHD
Oxygen (one without the "OH" on it)
MyNetwork TV

I know there are more, I just don't have the list in front of me.

ok, I've decided to just go ahead and make buttons for the missing logos I wanted. Since I have some free time and I'm currently making them, for a limited time only, I'll take a few requests if there are any channels anyone wants made for them.

So far I have...

HD Net (alternative logo)
HD Net Movies (alternative logo)
INHD (yeah, I know its now Mojo)
Mojo (practically a defunct channel now)
Music HD
Palladia
My Network TV
Outdoor Channel (the latest logo)
Oxygen (the latest logo)

Once I decide I'm finished, I'll post to Remote Central to put in the files section.

I looked in the URC Grapical series file section. I found your music logos but not the TV logos.

I've been adding new favorites all week. It's probably easier for me to share them by simply putting the file up somewhere myself and just upload the new file every time I decide to add favorites. If anyone wants the new favorites, you'll find them here...

I am thinking about getting an MX 980, but this "authorized dealer" situation is not clear to me. The cost from 6th Ave is $449 or so and they are "authorized". The cost from other dealers (some claim via telephone to be authorized) is around $250.

So what I need to know is what do I get for $449 and what is it that I don't get for $250? Finally, can I legally get what is missing, if I get one of these for $250?

Usually, I always go with the authorized dealer, but some of these "authorized" dealers have had poor reputations in the past.

OK, I found the sticky and read all 16 pages and I still have the same questions. Seems as though URC doesn't want my business.

Without derailing this thread...

I bought mine from Surf Remote. Their reputation and service is well reviewed on these boards. IMO, it's not that URC doesn't want your business. It's that they do not seem to want to deal with the end consumer. That is what custom installers and dealers are for.

Take Harmony for example... you can call up their help support and they will help you get your Harmony set up if needed. URC does not provide the same level of customer service.
