I have been trying to get an MX-810 programmed to control a Rotel RSP 1066 SS processor. The system belongs to a friend and I had helped him install it 4 years ago. At the time I used an MX-600 remote and the MRF-100 along with an IR-clone to save his remote settings. So, the system worked OK but the macros were flakey and, we decided it was time to upgrade to a newer remote. We decided to try the MX-810.

I have run into a real problem trying to get the MX-810 to control the Rotel RSP 1066. The URC database for this device seems to be totally wrong. As an example, when I select the RSP 1066 from the mx-810 database, the buttons that it sets up do not even apply to the 1066. There should be buttons for selecting video 1 - 5, CD, Tuner, etc. The URC data has buttons for vcr 1 - 3, LD, etc. and they do not work. I then selected the RSP 1068 since it seemed to have the correct buttons. This did not work either. Since the old MX-600 still operates the 1066, I thought I would try learning the codes from the MX-600 - no luck. I also tried to learn the commands from his original remote - no luck here either. It seems like the learned codes are not overriding the preprogrammed codes in the MX-810

So. I thought I would try setting up the 1066 as a device in the MX-3000. When I go into the mx-3000 code database for Rotel, it looks like I have the same problem. When I select the 1066 in the data base, I don't have IR codes that match the 1066, they look like the same as I saw in the MX-810 database and they probably are. I tried a few rotel processors from the data base that used the correct buttons (IR codes with ID 501 and 502) and set up a device file in the mx-3000. The one using 501 did not work at all, the 502 code set gave me control of volume + and -, but that was all. I tried using both IR and RF mode with the same results.

Does anyone have any of the newer URC remotes working with a Rotel RSP 1066? What code ID are you using? I have tried all of the generic Rotel code sets but they all seem to be using the same code sets as the listed devices.

From the mx-3000 or mx-810 I have tried the following code sets without sucess: 074, 083, 085, 501, and 502.

Any help you could provide would be greatly appreciated.
