Hey all, I have a client who switched out a Dish 612 for a Dish VIP 722. This sat box was being controlled by a MX-810 and was working fine with the 612 box, but now the VIP 722 is not responding?
Other background info: We have a VIP 722 downstairs being controlled by the MX-3000 with no issues at this time. I also re-did all the activities as I created a new device for this VIP 722. Additionally, I brought along my MX-810 from home just in case I couldn't get their remote working and it also didn't work.
Does the Dishnetwork box have a RF or IR internal remote option like DirecTV? Anyone have any suggestions, as I'm sure it something I overlooked? Thanks. B.

Check the remote address. The Dish receivers all have 15 remote addresses (and 15 RF addresses as well). It's probably set wrong in the receiver.
Press Menu-6-1-3 on the Dish remote to access the system info screen, and then see what the remote address is.

The last 722 was set to RF when I took it out of the box. The owners manual will tell you how to change it and it is done in the sys. info, like OTA said.

Ah this must be it, as this client does have a VIP722 downstairs! Once I find out what the address is, what do I set it to, for control with the MX-810 and MRF-260 base station? Thanks OTAHD!!!

Set it to IR address 1. I'd try to explain the procedure but I know I'd leave out something. It is, however, described in the instruction manual.

I saw it on the website but overlooked it the first time because the pertinent section is wrongfully titled "Improving receiver control". What the hell is that? Title it "Changing IR to RF" etc... Those numb nuts!
Do these Dish VIP 722's come RF set or IR set? I didn't have this issue with the one in his main theatre down stairs being controlled by a MX-3000? The Dish installers got to be lame or just overlooked the fact that when they made the switch out, a IR was hooked up to the front of the VIP 612. More morons, but I guess that's why we all have jobs. Thanks a bunch, I'll give it a shot tomorrow.

My client just sent me a picture of his system info.
The Primary remote address is 3 with green IR set. The Second remote address is 9 with purple UHF set.
I need this box to be IR only as I have a emitter on the front going to a MRF-260. Of course I asked him to call Dish and do it himself but he hasn't... Oye!

Set it to IR address 1 and you are set. On the sys info screen hold down the power on button for 5 seconds, press 0 - 1 then record. You should see it reset to address 1.
Must use the POWER ON button from the database and not toggle power.

No way at all to control TV2 (second set output) via IR. Yeah, it's a pain. Only the Dish remote will control it.
You need separate receivers for each TV in order to control via IR.
I recommend setting the 722 to "single mode" in which it only outputs for one TV, then you control that TV via IR.

Just wanted to get back to you guys and thank you. I finally got it working by hitting record on the MX-810 while on the System Info screen on the dish box. As soon as I hit that record button, the Dish ID jumped to 1 and the MX-810 is back to normal. Thanks again guys for your time and input, it's appreciated! B.

Yup, hitting record will set the box to whatever ID the remote is on.
