I was thinking that the RF was just having RF glitches. But it ends up that I have to push extra hard to make a connection. I finally discovered this when I turned the beep back on.

Anyone else had this problem or are both defective remotes?

Thanks

My 880 is very responsive. Once you feel that "click", it fires the command close to 100% of the time.

I agree that the remote is very responsive. But there isn't much of a distinctive. However, if you turn the beep back on you will notice that when the remote does not fire (that 7-10%+- of the time), it is because the button wasn't pushed hard enough.

Check it out and tell me what you think.

I'm finding that giving the extra pressure on the button takes away the comfortable feel in the hand.

So are my 2 880's defective or are they just made this way?

I have noticed this as well, ( and also thought it was an rf issue)

It doesn't happen with all buttons, but i specifically notice it on the directional buttons and a few others..

I've only had it about a week now so im gonna give it a little while and see if using it will break it in a little... Previous to this remote I had an MX-700 for about 4-5 yrs so it could also just be a familiarity thing

With that said, I'm almost already used to pressing the buttons a little harder than used to without any thought, so if that's just how it is, I'm fine with it

i actually i find the same thing with my 980, i think its a URC thing...? theres not much of a "click", and while not excessive by any means, you do have to put pressure, even after you can feel the button is pushed. mostly i find when using the cursor buttons, which look to be exactly the same on the 980 as the 880.

I ran into that issue with the volume down button on the first one I programed.

It always worked if you pushed harder....I had it replaced.

The replacement worked fine as have all of the others I have delivered.

I haven't had any issues with the 980's.
Every day is a good day.......some are just better than others!

I have this too on my MX-810. IMO it's just shoddy construction. When I press my down arrow, I can feel the "click" without it doing anything. I have to press extra hard for it to actually react. I tried getting another one, thinking the original one had an issue, but the replacement had the same issue, but worse, so I kept the original.

Seems they still have issues with this.
