Thought to pass on this experience in case it crops up with others.
I have two MX700's, an 800 and an 850. I recently deleted the MX700 Editor as the 850 appeared to work fine on the remotes here as well as on am MX700 I set up for a friend.
However uring an upgrade one of the 700's here got digital indigestion and refused to get out of the testing loop. Did a search here and saw that MAIN + STOP suceeded in freezing it. However downloading a file stopped at 25% with the anouncement there was no remote found.
So, after a search in the archives here I finally found the MX700 editor on CD so reinstalled it. The corrupted remote was them happy to download the demo program and was later content to accept an 850 file.
MORAL: Hang on to that MXC700 program. You might need it as I did.
