Yesterday I purchased a Samsung 37LG50 television, and I'm trying to program my MX-850 to control it. The IR databse code I'm using is 578. It doesn't have buttons for discrete input commands to, for example, set the input to Component 2. All I can do is toggle through the inputs by pushing one button, or alternatively select the input from a menu list.
Does anyone have any advice they could give me on where I might find these codes, or if they even exist?
I paid $899 at Best Buy, and I'm thinking of taking it back and replacing it with a LG 37LG50 for $849.
Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

If I am not mistaken, those codes have a/v discretes (composite), component discretes, and HDMI discretes. What is on page 2??? Did you only look at page 1?

If those don't work, have you tried the HEX in the RC database? [Link: remotecentral.com]

There are discrete input codes there, but only for the H?? Series of televisions. I will try them, though. Thanks for the tip.

I'd start with the HLN series: [Link: remotecentral.com]The discrete on and off codes worked, but that was about it. See next message for the solution to my problem. Thanks for your help.

Try code set 275. Basically all it contains is discrete input & power commands. It is the first code set you see under Samsung TV's And it's labeled "Discrete Functions". I feel like an idiot for not seeing that. The next three entries are also discrete codes, code sets 375 and 515. The one that worked best is 515. Thanks to you and the others for your help. If I end up keeping this TV I'll post my config file so others can use it.
