Anyone ever had a client call them up and say that a Uverse box is changing channels (on its own) after several minutes? They tell me that if this happens, it usually goes from an HD channel to the SD equivalent? This is happening in two different rooms, so I doubt that it's an isolated problem with a piece of equipment.
In one room, I'm using an MX-900 with an MRF-350. In another room, I'm using an IR repeater system with an MX-350. In the room with the MX-350, my client assures me that when they put the MX-350 back in the box and use only the Uverse remote, the problem goes away. But both of these rooms exhibit the problem.
My best guess as to what's happening is that my remotes do not have stable Uverse codes in them and that some double keystrokes are getting "buffered" in the Uverse box, only to be processed a few minutes later. Sounds really strange to me, but I can't come up with anything else. By the way, this house has 4 Uverse boxes, all located in the equipment closet about a foot away from each other. Even though the IR emitters are taped up pretty well to minimize interference to nearby boxes, it's not out of the question. However, this problem still occurs when only one room is in use.
All of my remote codes have been learned so far. However, I recently received the MX-900 codes for the Uverse directly from URC. Obviously, I should load these codes into the MX-900 and try to reteach the MX-350 from the MX-900. This may resolve my problem. But has anyone else ever seen this "ghost" channel changing?
Thanks.

Did you change the mrf base id code from 0 to something else and did you make sure the mx350 is out putting ir only? It sounds like the mrf is picking up the ir codes from the other remote.

Yes. This is definitely not the problem. In fact, both rooms (at the same time) are very seldom used. So the problem occurs when only one room is being used, pretty much eliminating the possibility of room-to-room interference. I've probably installed over a hundred of these remotes, and this is by far the strangest problem I've ever encountered. But then again, Uverse has shown me many "firsts," most of which I never want to see again. Can't they just go out of business or something?
