Is there a way to program a MX-900 button like Vol-Up/Down to keep sending while button is pressed? Normal behavior is one increment per press. Only other option I see is to program a continuous hold macro to do something like 4 volume increments on hold.

Most volume commands work exactly that way. I've seen commands where the IR command itself, for some reason, is only an incremental change and holding the button doesn't cause repeats.
Try the volume command from the command set of another component with a similar model number.
It's always helpful, too, to mention the brand and model of the device that isn't responding properly, because sometimes people know tricks for that brand or item.

A good answer is easier with a clear question giving the make and model of everything. "The biggest problem in communication is the illusion that it has taken place." -- G. “Bernie” Shaw |

If Ernie's suggestion doesn't do the trick, try learning the command from your original remote. Do so by holding the button on the original remote down while learning, rather than giving it a single push.
Nice meeting you yesterday Ernie. ;-)

Specifically, what is the component you are trying to control?
