Hi, I am setting up a new MX-450 and I was wondering how to change or put a background picture on the screen? Also, I don't see how/where to set the clock up? Also, how are activities set up on this? Thanks

For some reason I can't put a macro on any of the LCD buttons on the main screen? When I do this and test the macro, it tests fine, but once back to the main screen and the macro is pressed it just sits there saying "Macro Sending" but nothing is happening? I must be missing something when I set up the macro on the main page buttons. I have successfully set up system power on and off macros on the on/off buttons though. Can anyone help me on on this?
Thanks Steve

For your first post,
I don't think you can change or put a background image on the screen. Activities are created with macros.
For the 2nd. Have you tested the LCD button macros on your equipment? When executing a macro it does not flip from screen to screen showing the different commands. It executes all of the commands and then flips to whatever page you have it flipping to at the end of the macro. Maybe this is the problem after reading your post again. In your macro are you directing the remote to a new page at the end of your macro?

Here is what I have for one of my main screen macros for my HTPC: Step001: TV HDMI 4 Step002: 0.5s Delay Step003: AVR HTPC (Input) Step004: 0.5s Delay Step005: Go to AVR PG1
When I am in the macro editor and run the test on this macro, it works fine. But when I am out of the editor and on the main screen and press the HTPC (macro) button, the "Macro Sending" message is at the top of the screen but nothing is happening, and it doesn't even end on the AVR page 1. Not sure if it matters or not, but I don't have a device programmed into my HTPC page, I just want it to be a macro to change over all inputs to use it, as I use a wireless keyboard with it.

Are you using a base station or are you using direct IR to control you components? If using a base station set the address on both pieces to something other than 0(zero). Also make sure the remote is set to send IR or RF according to what you are using.
It may not go to that page because you don't have anything programmed on any of the pages. You could try just adding 1 button to the first page and then see if it will work.
What DOES the remote do when you press your macro button? Does the "Macro Sending" message eventually go away?

No, I am not using a base station, everything is IR operated. When I press the macro button it goes to the HTPC page and says "Macro Sending". Yes, the "Macro Sending" eventually goes away. Also, the macros I have for system on & off on the main page work perfectly as they should.

Well, I am making some progress, I think? I deleted all macros on my remote, then I decided to make 1 first, and it worked fine, and it was on one of the LCD buttons. Then I made another one on another LCD button and it worked fine. Then I made the system power on macro (one that worked fine before) and it didn't work, and would just hang at Macro Sending. And any subsequent macros I made would do the same thing. So I erased them all again, and started making them in a different order, and what I've found is that it doesn't matter what I put in the macros, the first 2 will work no problem, then every one after that won't? I sure hope this isn't a limitation of 2 macros for this remote? My old MX-700 was easier to program than this, and it worked too! I'm at a loss, and I usually don't give up, but I don't know what else to try? Anyone???
Thanks

It's possible to inadvertently create nested macros with this remote. During macro programming, if you press a device button with a macro programmed to it, it will become a nested macro within the one you're currently programming. You can delete the step of pressing a device button though by using the "Delete" step function in the macro editing mode.

I am having a similar problem with this remote. Programmed it for a customer with about 6 macros on main page. Worked well for about 1 week. Now it hangs constantly with the macro sending message, but never issues commands. If you pull the batteries and start over it will issue one macro before hanging problem returns. hanging affects all buttons not just macro. I am going to try a firmware upgrade (if available) and see if that helps otherwise I will replace this with a more reliable remote.

Just tried upgrading firmware with no success at solving the problem. was able to back up the configuration using the new software from URC. Reformatted remote to factory state and it is still lagging terribly. will wait for URC tech support to get back to me but this remote is not going to be back in service.
