For what it's worth, I am running the most recent version of the MX-880 Editor on my XP Professional system, and it works perfectly. Clearly, there is something on some people's PCs that is conflicting with the URC software.

I have Windows XP Professional and can't transfer my file to my new MX-880 remote. What version of the MX-880 editor do you have on your PC? I receive a "Can't download to MX-810" error and the editor crashes. I let XP use the URC USB Sync V70 driver. Is that correct?

Try using the driver located in the below folder, I am using this one without any issues:

(assuming you installed to the default location)
C:\Program Files\Universal Remote Control, Inc\MX-880 Editor\Drivers\Windows XP\

Make sure when you select the folder to search for the driver in you check off the box to include subfolders

It will then give you a list of 2 or 3 drivers, choose the driver that has FW1 in in.

Thats the one that I am using on a few different PCs and its working like a charm

Thanks for the tip. I got the bright idea to update my software which seemed to fix the problem for me. I assumed (dumb on my part) that when I downloaded the editor software it was the latest and greatest. Guess not.

Thanks again.
