I am trying to program my MX-3000 for a Scientific Atlanta HD-DVR, Explorer 8300 HDC. Does anyone know if there are discreet ON/OFF codes for this box?

Depending where you are located (they use this box on the east and west coast with different software on the boxes) you may be able to turn on a feature called "power & numeric", which is located under "Set" ---> "Power On Keys".

Here in New York, it works fine.

"0" + "Exit" turns the box on.

"0" + "Power" turns the box off.

Hope that helps.

Thanks Joey. Are these codes in the IR DB or do you mean program a macro to send those 2 signals?

The SA codes are in the database, and you would need to "Macro" those codes together to achieve the faux discrete power.

I have Time Warner Cable in Queens, NY

I have an Explorer 8300HD and I do not have "power & numeric", which is located under "Set" ---> "Power On Keys"

The ("0" + "Exit" turns the box on & "0" + "Power" turns the box off) does not work for me.

Is their any other workaround for this?

Any suggestions would be appreciated

Thanks,
Scott

If you're not on SARA software, then you won't have that option and you're SOL.

Some TW markets use Mystero software or something.

I checked and the only thing listed is "Power on Channel" in the settings menu

I changed it to ch1 and tried "1 + Exit" and it did not work

Any other Ideas

Thanks,
Scott

These cable boxes run several different software versions depending on your cable company and region, and unless you have the SARA version you won't have the "power on keys" setting. And if you don't, there's no macro workarounds to be had.

An MSC-400 with a power sensor works VERY nicely, however.
