** I MOVED THIS TO THE CUSTOM INSTALLER'S LOUNGE AS IT SEEMS BETTER SUITED

Hello Everyone,

Hopefully someone can help me out with this. I have an MX-950, one 42" Panasonic 42PZ77U Plasma and one 32" Panasonic 32LX700 LCD in the same room. Unfortunately they use the same or similar codes so power one up and they both turn on, volume, etc. None of the other models I have tried on the URC/MX-950 software will work just one without the other. In saying that I was able to get into the service menu on the 32" and change the rm-set code from A to B so I'm 50% there. Now my 42" plasma works fine but nothing from my MX-950 (or the original remote) will work with the 32". How do I change the original 32" Panasonic remote (or the MX-950 if possible) to Code B to match the change I made to the TV?

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks.

are you using ir or what rf base station are you using? maybe rs232 and then assign the ports or if you are using the mrf 350's and below how about just a flasher in front of the ir sensor. not the prettiest but it will work.
good luck.
Is the water wet?

To clarify one of the methods AlwaysConfused mentioned, a solution would be to use one of URC's RF basestations eg the MRF-260. This way, both TVs can use the case codeset, and rather than IR, the remote will communicate via RF. This is picked up by the basestation which has IR emitters attached to the IR receivers on the front of the TVs.

Using the RF settings of the URC software, the two TVs can be assigned different emitter outputs, and so it will only control one TV at a time, without changing any codesets.

Thanks. I had thought about that but my MRF-350 is quite a distance from both my sets in another room. I was just hoping to find a way to do it via IR. I figure if there is a CODE A and B in the service menu then there must be a way to synch up the remote as well.

Alternatively does anyone know of a URC code that will work with either the plasma or LCD but not both? As long as I can get one to power on/off, volume up/down, mute without the other doing the same then I'm fine.

Thanks.

you will likely need to contact panasonic in regards to an IR code set for CodeB
