Hi all, I hope someone out there can help me out. I was just downloading a config that I know works to a brand new tx-1000 when in the middle of the write process an error message on the pc read "write failed" and my remote was was stuck on the boot load screen. It was completely locked so I removed the batteries. Now the remote won't power on and the computer recogonizes it as a usb device but doesn't know what kind. It right now looks like I have a $500 brick.

I am using the
tx editing software 1.10.110
firmware 1.50
ir db 1.82
I realize I can return the remote and get a new one but would rather not go through the hassle of returns/exchanges/RMA/waiting

Is there a reset or something on this remote to get it back to factory specs besides the watch+sel button for 3 seconds? (That one doesn't work because it won't power on)
Any help would be greatly appreciated

Remove one battery, press a bunch of buttons to make sure it is dead.

Press and hold ON and MUTE, while holding these two buttons down insert the last battery.

If there is any bit of life in this thing, it should come up and say "LOADER"

Now you should be able to connect and load firmware and a program.

Is this a TX-1000 only thing?

Thanks for your reply. It looks like there is no life left in my remote. I can only assume this is a case of infant mortality, because like I said earlier I know the program, config and firmware all worked on another tx-1000. Any ideas on what could have gone wrong so that when I get me new one this isn't repeated?

I doubt there is anything you could have done to cause it. We sell a LOT of URC remotes and very seldom do I see a dead one, Of the few we see that need repair, I may have seen ONE that was completely dead.

If you'd like, you can email me the program (email in profile) and I'll load it into mine and make sure it works before you try it again.
