ive been in the home theater business for 10yrs, ive done lots of remotes from the pronto, crestron programming and universal remotes.

Ive done who know how many universal remotes. my problem is when i upload a mx-850 the upload only goes to 11% and stops. (it downloads without a problem, macros and everything) It doesnt give me a error code or anything. It has happened on every mx-850 ive done, from new ones to older ones. the last upload i got on the computer was like back in 2006, . I thought it might be the program, so I uninstalled it and put it back on. I talked to tech support, they told me everything from a bad cable ( i have about 20 of them to try, same thing on all) to driver problems to a bad comm port. So after i uninstalled it and reinstalled it it did the same thing. I got a new hard drive and loaded up all my programs on the dell laptop. Same thing. Got a 2 new motherboards from dell, same thing. Made sure I had brand new batteries in the remotes, same problem. I dont know what to try next? Tech support cant help, Can you guys?

Thanks for any advice
Brian

Ps I have XP on my laptop.

Are you using a serial adapter? if so, what kind?

What version mx sofware do you have?

Ps, you can't fix stupid

I had similar issues on an older XP machine @ the shop, it turned out to be the serial adapter drivers, I un-installed and then re-installed and all worked well. BTW, it was a Belkin adapter.

Im using the com port, no usb to serial adaptors. current version of software, cause i uninstalled and redownloaded from there site.

I have found that if I disable my wireless card it works fine. i have no idea why. with the current version of mx850 editor. There never was a problem downloading just uploading.

Hope this helps someone who has the same problem .

Thank you for your thread! I have been having the same problem for a month and disabling my wireless works as well. What a crazy fix!

I am having the EXACT same problem. Sometimes I make it to 25%, but most of the time it bombs at 11%. Disabling my wireless card did not help. Any other suggestions?

The only thing I can think of is to try Com Port 1. I had a machine at work that had multiple com ports, and we got reliable behavior only when we used com port 1.
