you are a class act! that was a very fine post. I still don't agree with URC's policy of software, but it is what it is, and your post was as direct yet respectful, as one can get.

Dale,
I apreciate your position, but isn't the expansion pack and favorites only for use with the 980? If it could be used on a competitors remote than I really understand, but if they will only work on the 980 then you have been compensated when I purchase the remote thru a licensed dealer.
While I'm waiting for the remote, I have spent a good deal of time with the editor, I wonder about the amount of time put into the pack and favorites. If a majority of the work was graphics, then perhaps contracting a professional graphic design artist would be a better option than using your resource? I manage a site that requires specific graphics and after reviewing the program, I don’t see more than 20 to 40 hours of graphs work. I realize that’s quite a subjective statement, and I may well be way off, but the folks I work with can turn out a lot of quality work quickly. The graphics guys give it to the web guys who still must make it logical and intuitive. I’m not criticizing your work, it is beautiful and I really enjoy working with the interface. I’m so glad to hear URC is unifying its code base. It’s rather crazy to keep inventing the same wheel over and over again.

dealer. It will also work on a remote purchased through ebay. But I get your point. Someone "stealing" the graphics package will only be able to use it on a remote that at some point in its life cycle was sold by and provided revenue to URC. Revenue to URC means paychecks for employees.
