Hi all,

I've been a long time lurker, and finally picked up an MX-810 from a local dealer yesterday. First impressions are that the hardware is very nice but that the software (ProWizard SL068) is rough around the edges. I didn't find a better place for end-users to report bugs so please let me know if there is, or if there are solutions to these problems:

1. When I enter the make/model of my JVC DLA-RS1 projector the wizard says it doesnt know about this model so select Continue to go with its selection (different model) or Enter to enter it as a new model. I choose Enter and go through input configuring and IR learning, but then later on in device lists the projector shows up not as the model# I entered but the wrong choice the wizard asked me if I wanted to use.

2. Some lists overflow so that the last device is outside the scrolling region, but I can select it fine.

3. Some vertical scroll bars do nothing if I click the arrow ends or click in the bar but instead I have to drag the piece. Other scroll bars work as expected.

4. In Tune-up, Power-On delay, the list view is different to all the other list views. It is a regular Windows dialog rather than the custom list view. I prefer the Windows one, it always works as expected (see 3).

5. When marking buttons as bad, a message box pops up saying the wizard version and has to be dismissed before continuing. Presumably some old debug code that never got removed.

6. Power-off configuration (in the Failed Test Automation selection) lets me select single click, double click or press and hold. Many projectors, including my RS-1, need double click but the time between the clicks cannot be adjusted and it seems the current setting is too fast for the RS-1. This needs to be adjustable to at least 0.5s but ideally configurable from 0.0-2.0s say - the RS-1 likes about 0.5s or more.

7. Upload to the remote always works, but I've had several activities that just sit at "Keep pointing remote as you have professional automation" after I'd selected them (eg Watch DVD) until I pull the battery. After pulling the battery, making a change to the config, revert the change and upload and the activity works fine - IR is done after a few seconds.

I think that's everything I've run into so far in terms of bugs. There are other usability issues (such as if you delete the display device after initial config, and then add it back or a different one, you have to go through each activity by hand to add the power/input changes. Harmony is much better here), but for a v1 it's pretty good.

Thanks for listening!
David.

I don't know anywhere to report bugs (using URC's products before I haven't had any) but the obvious answer to get in touch would be their Contact Us page. There's not a choice for tech issues, but i'm sure it'll get through

It seems like there's a lot of problems with the 810...i was thinking we'd start selling it as an entry level remote, but if it's gonna be as much of a pain as the Harmony 1000 than it's probably not worth it.

Use the Universal Browser to edit your activities, particularly the OFF programming where you'll be able to add the delay time you need.

I have experienced mmost of the same problems as "dlinsley" but have a couple of other issues:

1. I have two DirecTV receivers, and HD Receiver (no DVR) and a standard receiver (with DVR). Even though each is unique and have different model numbers, both have identical remote codes (735). So far using the MX-810 I have had conflicting issues trying to operate each receiver separately RF only. Have looked for distinctly unique remote codes but so far no luck.

2. Just downloaded an update? (SL002) and now I am unable to change inputs on any activities I create or modify. Clicking on NEXT just produces the same screen.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

if both units use the same ir codes,,, then the ONLY way to resolve the issue will be to use the MRF-300 or mrf-350, msc-400 Base stations ability to route specific devices to certain ir ports, and then disable the base'es front IR blaster.. that way if cable box 1 is on port 1 and cable box 2 is on port 2... all of the commands associated with the devices will be sent to ONLY the emmiter corosponding to its routing course... hope this helps

You can use the new 260 base station, it routes IR also.
