If you are using an MRF base station with them, you don't
need to learn the other code. Just route the IR for each
individual receiver.

Only if you can keep the IR 100% isolated, otherwise you run the risk of interfering with the operation of the other DVR... which would be really really bad.

It's further complicated because the HR20 is sensitive to the IR output level. I have my emitters on the side of my enclosure, fairly far away from the IR sensor.

Jon,

Thanks for the file. I couldn't figure out hex2ccf and IRPanels gave me errors when I pasted code, so I manually pasted code directly into ProntoEdit and it works great.

Thanks again,
Dennis

How do you change the default setting on the Directtv remote from RF to IR. Any input would be much appreciated.

With the Remote control setup screen, there's an IR/RF setup entry. You just have to change the setting from RF to IR, then under Receiver mode you can select the primary (DirecTV) or alternate (AV1/AV2) codeset.

Cool.

Hex2ccf should be simple to run...

hex2ccf hr20.hex hr20.ccf

And then you import directly with the universal browser, but pronto edit or tonto will certainly get the job done as well.

Just thought I'd bring this up again. I've used the alternate codes for Play, Advance (incorrectly listed as "Play" in the spreadsheet) from the list from the DBS forum and they work like they're supposed to when you hold them down. However, there's no alternate listed for Replay. Does anyone know if any of the 255 codes in the list perform the Replay function with the 3 second hold down?

Yes, it exists.

According to my spreadsheet, OBC code 63 should be the one you want.

56 = Slip/Jump to End
58 = Play/Slow Motion
60 = Rewind/Skip Back to Tick
61 = Fast Forward/Skip To Tick
63 = Replay/Jump to Beginning

Thanks Jon. The 63 code was missing from the spreadsheet I downloaded.

I'll add that to my file and post it here.

I tried all 255 just to see if the guy who originally documented them missed anything. :)

I've got an .mxa file (which can be opened with the Universal Browser of any editor) for the HR20 available for download here.

Thanks to Jon and the original poster on DBS Forums.

If you'd like to add a device for the secondary codeset, I can email you the CCF file.

I have a couple questions/requests for assistance related to this thread.

I'm trying to reprogram an old prontopro 6000, with codes for the HR20-700. I followed a link in this thread to get a ccf file with these codes and it seems to work for the default codeset.

However, I have two HR20's in the same room using IR (have to use IR as this is part of a multiroom setup) and have addressed the remote/receiver for one of them to the AV1 codeset. This works great now I just need the IR codes for this code alternate code set.

I tried to learn the codes into the editor from the remote but I will not accept them. I think there may be a problem with the remote as I couldn't get it to learn codes from other remotes either.

Does anyone have codes for the AV1 codeset "00003"? I could make use them in pronto or MX format.

Any way to "convert" the default set to this alternate?

I have a prontoNG 3000 and though I might try to learn codes into that and export for the 6000, sound like a reasonable idea?

Thanks for any help.

... rich

I am a little confused...does the file referenced in the link above contain the alternate coodes required for the "press & hold" functions? If so, under which button definitions are they located?
