I have a MX850 and when I downloaded the codes from Universal's database, the P-On still toggles on/off but the P-Off works fine. I am very new to the MX editor (3 days). I found some hex code for a 60" TV in a previous post and pasted it in the Universal Browser. I dragged it to the button saved and downloaded to the remote but it didn't work. Having read earlier on this forum that the code has to be "learned code",whatever that is, I'm wondering if that's my problem and how do I get that hex code to be "learned" code. by now I am probably not making much sense so I will leave it at that. Thank you

Power off, delay, power. Greg has probly the best workaround. Simple but effective. I would only program the workaround on the "main" power button. That way the Panny is not turning on and off when changing devices and doing any macros that you program. Dave T.

Thanks Greg.....so obvious but effective.
Just to continue with my learning, if I was to try urc code 383 can someone tell me how to go about finding that code and inputing it into the MX editor. I tried just scrolling through the IR code numbers until I got to 383 but that just gave me a completely different set of buttons.

Try these. These have worked on all the Panasonics I've programmed: [Link: remotecentral.com]

There were indeed some older Pannys with ONLY discrete off.
The last one I recall was in 2004.
