Picked one of these remotes up over the weekend at a Sony Outlet Store for $24.99 - they are out there.

I was hoping this remote had a flat bottom like the RM-VL600, but it is contoured like the 610. The loss of TAPE/MD codes sucked as well, but that's what manual learning is for.
