Only way I can see this working is loading all of the entries and making activities to make them all work together however taking the above quote into consideration I don't see myself getting the device setup the way I want it :(
That would be essentially the same thing as combining them together beforehand.
Given where you are now, here is what I would try next.
Start with the "MAIN" device
Next make a list of all the functions that are on your original remote that are NOT in the main device
Then simply learn those functions into the soft buttons(the ones on the LCD) of the MX-810
Here are the steps to learn the extra codes.
1. First go into tune up->relabel or rearrange screen buttons
2. Add buttons for all the functions on you missing list.
3. Next go into tune up->learn new commands from any remote control
4. Now click on each of the soft buttons you added in step 2 and learn it from the original remote.
