Is there a matrix or something that shows a good comparison of these? And is the 810 really a dog or what's the story with that one?

Why am I asking?
I currently have a Harmony 880. I'm also a linux user so it's kind of a pain in my butt to have to fire up a VM or install software on my wife's laptop so I can log on to the logitech web site to program the remote every time I want to make a small change.

I'm not making an immediate purchase, but I am seriously looking at the URC lineup as the next remote. There's quite a jump in price from the 850 to the 900. I am leaning away from the 810 just due to the number of disparaging remarks here regarding programmability. I don't want to get something I can't program any more than I can program the Harmony. If that were the case I'd just buy another logitech.

I know that with a little work I can get the URC lines to do what the Harmony does in terms of making it an Acitivity-based" remote rather than a device-based remote. In other words, I *LIKE* the way the Harmony works. My family doesn't want to have to know what device needs to be on what input or output and all that.

I don't do whole house automation. I control a Panny plasma, a DishNetwork HD DVR (VIP622), a panny DVD recorder, and a sony CD changer and audio control is (currently) a Sony AV receiver (STR-DE685, but my STR-DE597 might need to take over as I believe the 685 is on the way out)

Do the URC remotes connect to computer using RS232 port or USB?
Would I benefit from spending more money (like twice as much) and getting the 900 as opposed to the 850? Oh... and I really don't need RF at this point. Might be nice to have down the road, but it is certainly not a deciding factor in the time frame of this purchase... which is maybe 6 months out.
