I have had an MX-980 paired with an MRF-350 for about 4 months now, and it works good. i used the hex codes that I got from a pronto guy. I think your having problems because the MRF-250 is the last generation of base stations. try using an MRF-350, or if you don't want to spend that much, try the newer MRF-260.
