Hi, I just bought a new MX-850. I downloaded the MX-Editor
program and began programming the remote. However, my
PC is not recognizing the remote. The download message
I keep getting is telling me either the port is incorrect
or the cord is defective. I have tried two different USB
patch cords, as the cord that came with the remote is
a serial, my PC is acknowledging the cord and driver,
I have tried all 8 com ports carefully matching them with
the PC and editor program, still nothing.. I also tried
this on another PC. If anyone has any words of wisdom,
please share. Thanks!!!
To be honest you should be using a comp with a serial port! When I first starting programming 850's for my company I was using the usb the serial adaptor and it sucked!!! I would go to jobs hours away from shop and not be able to upload because I could not get the stupid cable to work! After a few long trips of wasted time and money the company finally bought be a new comp with a seral port!!
