Don't let the fact that you can't get the software influence your decision. The MX-3000 is just as configurable, and even has a features that the Pronto doesn't. One of the big ones is variables, which can do a lot in your configuration.

It is just as easy or easier to program than the 9500. You won't have a problem programming it.

Go with the form factor and ergonimcs that you like. Both are great remotes. Both are highly customizable.

I wouldn't just dismiss the MX-3000 out of hand because you can't get a copy of the software, which by the way can import Pronto hex codes directly, etc. etc. etc.
When ignorance is bliss, ‘tis folly to be wise.
