First, all of the authorized dealers can be found at URC's website. So you don't need a document from the dealer. Some authorized dealers are www.surfremote.com, www.proremotes.com, and www.bluedo.com.

Second, different dealers have different prices. They do run sales and specials.

Third, don't let what you read here from biased reviews affect how you buy. URC is helpful and does have high regard for it's consumers. The main policy is cracking down on unauthorized dealers. There's some representatives over in the URC forums from URC. I've always found URC to be helpful.

I don't think the profit is huge. They're quality remotes, and priced competitvely with others. They're worth what they cost.

Good question as to how the other dealers get the remotes. I'd be almost sure that URC doesn't sell to them.
