If you buy fron an authorized dealer they should supply you with a software link or disc that should have access to Live updates.

I dont sell much URC anymore and we usually do the programming if we do.

I personally use RTI, I have a T3 for the main room and a T1 in the bedroom both with RF bases

The T2-C is going to be an awsome remote when its released

As far as the recharge bases its a personal preference. The batteries in the MX700, 800, 850 and such seem to last 4-6 months or longer depending on usage

All the RTI remotes are equiped with rechargable batteries and bases except the M2 and U1

The URC line is a good line and is supported by many in these forums
There's no worse feeling than that millisecond you're sure you are going to die after leaning your chair back a little too far.
