It turned out that Martin's problem with the RF codes was entirely related to delays in macros. All the individual commands worked OK.
Most X-10 receivers (both IR and RF) are deaf to additional inputs while transmitting to the powerline. Usually, this means you need about a 1/2 second delay between commands in macros.
