This problem has now reached me. I have had my 3000 since the day they first came out and never had problem with the touch screen. All of a sudden, my wife informs me that the screen no longer responds (but the hard buttons still worked). I re-installed the firmware, then went to an earlier version of the firmware but still not luck. I also had it wipe out my existing program in case it got corrupted while I did the firmware re-install but again, no luck. I reviewed this thread and opened up the 3000 and cleaned the contacts on both ribbon connectors and plugged them back in and still no luck. I then loosened the connector that holds each ribbon cable and wiggled the cables while I had the battery plugged in and was finally able to get my touch screen to work again. Not sure how long this will last but I hope it buys me time until I get a replacement. I am a sucker for these Pronto remotes and will buy a new one to replace it, probably the 7500.
