Actually, I started off with firmware *older* than 1.3. Scarey stuff. ;-) I often had the iPronto in a state that looked like sure death, but it always came back.

Accessing the net during normal use wasn't a problem for me on the old firmware, but sometimes it would "corrupt" certain network settings when connecting to the net during the firmware update process. I'd often go into the special setup menu and find no DNS servers, or an IP address that's completely wrong.

Also, make sure you aren't trying to use WEP or something while doing this... just make your AP wide open and auto-configuring to eliminate a lot of variables.

I don't have the NetX running right now, but I do have two iProntos that currently work fine with my access point along with two laptops - it's a Linksys WAP11.
