Well, my NetX stops working when my network goes down, and comes back on when it boots up. I don't know the communication method or packet transfer situation, but it does not use the 418mhz band(just for clarity's sake it is 418 not 417). Maybe it uses the 2.4Ghz band to communicate directly to the NetX and not through the network.
