I actually agree. Now I've had time to look at
it more subjectively, I do love this machine.
It does need a few minor issues sorting out. Hard
buttons, the side buttons and jump to EPG would
really cover all it's biggest shortcomings in
my book, so it's hardly a major failing. To be
honest, my problem is the crashing. It's funny
how this problem makes all the other minor ones
seem like a much bigger deal than thay are. Except
the hard buttons. They are a glaring oversight!
Especially since previous prontos did it better...
All in all though, I haven't seen another controller
anywhere near this good that anyone other than
third world dictators can afford.

Well I've sent you a new network card out today to your home address by Registered Post so you should have it tomorrow (Saturday) morning - hopefully that will sort the problem.

I do still feel that a bit longer Beta testing
and development would have produced a better product
for release. I do object to the modern-day approach
of "release it anyway and fix it through upgrades"...
Thanks Bill Gates for introducing that idea!

We actually did do quite a lot of Beta Testing on the last 1.6.n firmware release but unfortunately if this *IS* a duff batch of cards then that wouldn't be caught in a firmware test unless one of the testers had a bad card too...
